As BloodBook.com operates internationally, we receive a number of e-mails
inquiring as to the English language spelling conventions utilized on this web site. This
of course stems from the differences between the spelling norms adopted by English
speaking countries around the world. As we are based in the United States of America, we
have chosen the American English spelling rather than the British spelling for words like
hematology (haematology), labeling (labelling), favorite (favourite), etc. We have however
used the "~ize" form of words like "organization" as this is
acceptable everywhere. We did have a great number of e-mails from the United States when a
draft version of this web site (often visited) included the British
"organisation!" |
